Pour your pecans into a dry skillet. Turn on your stove to medium heat and stirring them constantly, toast the pecans for about 3 minutes. You know they're done when you can smell them.
Add in the brown sugar, stir them together
Carefully add in the water-it will steam and splutter because your pan is hot. This is ok.
Bring the mixture up to a simmer. It's done when the sugar is dissolved. You can feel with your spoon when the sugar is dissolved-it's no longer grainy. This should take about 3ish minutes, depending on how hot your pan is.
Strain the syrup into a clean jar-use a funnel if you have one-if you watch my video below you can see me spill hot syrup all over... Allow to cool and store in the fridge.
