Ok, so these are so easy that it almost feels silly to share them with you. Except, I have not really ever thought about decorating Rice Krispie Treats. Sure, I’ve used them before to help make the top part of a cake, but I’ve never really decorated them on their own.
The great part about decorating Rice Krispie Treats is that simpler is better. They already taste great on their own so a little bit of chocolate and candy go a long way towards making a really tasty, fun treat. And the best part-they’re really fast and really easy. Now that I parent, I basically have no time to make complicated things.

What you need to make Soccer Rice Krispie Treats:
- Rice Krispie Treats (obviously). I make my own but no shame if you want to buy them. To make a fat Rice Krispie treat, I make a double batch and put it all in a 9×13 pan. I just use the recipe on the back of the box of Rice Krispies, nothing fancy but dang they’re good!
- Green Candy Melts-you can use white ones and put in some green food coloring if that’s what you have but if you can, just get the green ones. The color will be more uniform and it’s less mess if you don’t have to deal with the food coloring
- Coconut oil-I think the Candy Melts are a little thick when melted so I like to add a couple tablespoons of coconut oil to the chocolate when it’s melting to smooth things out. If you don’t have coconut oil, use shortening instead (that’s what I did for years).
- Soccer ball candies-I was able to pick these up in the baking section of my grocery store. Now if you’re really hardcore about homemade, you could certainly make your own using this method.

How to Make Soccer Rice Krispie Treats:
- If you’re making you’re own Rice Krispie treats, make them and let them cool completely. Cut them into squares. (Or rectangles or triangles-whatever strikes your fancy).
- Melt candy melts and coconut oil together in the microwave.
- Dip bottom part of the Rice Krispie treat into the melted chocolate.
- Press soccer ball candy into the melted chocolate.
- If desired, use a fork to add texture to the chocolate to make it look more like grass.
- Lay finished Rice Krispie treats on wax or parchment paper and allow to dry for about 20 minutes.
- Enjoy!
